FAQs

01

How long have you been in business?

Chantilly Lace Photography opened in 2009 and provided free, portfolio building sessions, but has officially been in business since September of 2011.

02

Do you have a studio?

No. 90% of my business is done outdoors and therefore, it is not a smart business decision at this time. Most indoor sessions are done on-location.

03

Where will the session take place?

That is up to you! The location options are endless and as an on-location photographer, I will recommend locations, but the final decision is yours.

04

Will you travel?

Yes, within 30 miles of the Greater Charleston area. Any travel greater than 30 miles will accrue additional fees based on the length of travel.

05

When are you available?

My availability varies depending on the session type and location. Please contact me if you are interested in booking a session to determine availability.

06

Will you tell me how to pose?

Relax and have fun... If you have never had a session with a professional photographer before, or if you are a bit nervous, stop worrying. I will provide you with all the information, coaching, and direction that you need to get the absolutely best photographs possible.

07

Do you retain the copyright for the photos taken?

Yes, but I do release the rights to customers for printing.

08

Do you reserve the right to publish my photos?

Yes, with your permission. At the time of the session, I will ask you to sign a photo release form. This gives me permission to edit and post your photos. You are not required to sign this photo release if you would prefer that your photos remain private. If you choose to keep your photos private, they will be available for viewing in my password-protected online proofing gallery only.

09

What should I wear?

Keep it simple.  You do not all have to match- just coordinate, or at least try not to clash terribly.  Avoid logo clothes and busy patterns.  Newborns are always best if naked or in a simple onesie and maybe a special hat. Try to dress in a way that will showcase your individuality.

10

What should I bring?

Some sessions allow wardrobe changes, so bring extra clothes. Bring comfortable shoes if youve chosen a location that requires a lot of walking. You can slide on the shoes that you want in your photo before the shot is taken. Also, bring any special or favorite object to use a prop to showcase your personality.

11

When will I be able to proof my photos?

Within three weeks of your session, you will have proofs available to view in my password-protected online proofing gallery.  You will receive an email when your proofs are ready with your password, and then you will have two weeks to place your order.
